DETROIT -- Junior Lauren Allen (Rochester Hills, MI/Rochester) tied her career high with 19 points and the Titans made a ferocious second-half comeback, but it was just not enough as UDM dropped a 65-55 affair to Milwaukee on Thursday night.

Detroit is now 12-16 on the year and 6-11 in the Horizon League, but with Loyola falling to Cleveland State tonight, the Titans now know that they will be the seventh seed in the upcoming conference championship.

Allen, who scored 15 points in the second half, ended the game 8-of-12 from the field and a perfect 3-of-3 from three-point range. She also grabbed five rebounds and had an assist in 22 minutes of action.

Detroit started its comeback with 13 minutes left in the game. After Milwaukee (12-16, 9-8 HL) ran off 14-straight points to take a 44-33 lead, Allen sparked the red, white and blue charge with back-to-back 3-pointers.

After a three by UWM, Allen answered with back-to-back jumpers to get UDM within four, 47-43. She would eventually knot the game at 51-all with her third triple of the game at the 4:25 mark.

That would be the last time the Titans tied the game as Milwaukee scored the next four points. UDM closed to within two twice down the stretch, the latest at 1:51 when sophomore Dominique Dixon (Detroit, MI/Renaissance) drove inside for a layup, but that would be the last time Detroit bucket as the Panthers ended the game on an 8-0 run to claim the victory.

Dixon finished the game with nine points. Sophomore Yar Shayok (Ottawa, ON/Hillcrest) added seven points, six rebounds, three steals and three blocks, while sophomore Cherridy Thornton (Detroit, MI/Frank Cody Senior) tallied seven points and pulled down five rebounds.

Junior Jalesa Jones (Detroit, MI/Pershing) made some history on the night ending the contest with eight points and a team-high four assists, which moved her into seventh place in Titan history with 349 career helpers.

Milwaukee started the contest by scoring 11 of the first 15 points to take an 11-4 lead just four minutes into the game. UDM came right back with seven unanswered to tie the score at 14-all at the 11:34 mark. From there, the game was tied five more times, including at 30-30 going into halftime.

The Titans will end the regular season on Saturday as Detroit faces No. 15/12 Green Bay in Calihan Hall at 2:00 p.m. It will be senior day at Calihan Hall as the Titans honor their lone senior on the squad, Talicia Washington (Auburn Hills, MI/Avondale), prior to the start of the contest.

Game Notes:
Allen had not scored in double digits in her past 13 games, with the last time a 12-point effort against Valparaiso on Jan. 6…Her other 19-point game also came against Milwaukee in Calihan Hall last year…Dixon had a career-high 32 points the last time these teams met in Milwaukee on Jan. 2…Detroit tied its season low for the second-straight game with just eight turnovers…While Detroit has clinched the seventh seed, its opponent will be decided on Saturday as a Valparaiso loss and a Youngstown State victory would send Valpo to Calihan Hall, while a Crusaders' win would set up a YSU-UDM match-up.
