The Detroit Titans resume Horizon League play this weekend when they host the Butler Bulldogs for a three-game set on Saturday and Sunday.  It will be the first home conference games for UDM and Butler plays on the road for the second consecutive week to open HL action.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
BU (13-11) played a shortened HL series last weekend at UIC, winning a 10-5 decsion before a 2-1 setback to the Flames on Sunday.  On Wednesday, BU dropped a pair of games at IPFW (3-1 & 10-7) and the Dogs have now lost three straight coming into Saturday.

MAKING IT HURT
Rachel Copple leads the Titans with her .356 batting average through 19 games.  She has a team-best 16 hits and was successful in her only stolen base attempt.  What's more impressive is Copple's on-base percentage (.500), which is boosted by five walks and a whopping eight hit-by-pitches.  Three of those came in one game in the Valparaiso series.

ONE-RUN GAME STREAK ENDS
Detroit finally had its streak of wins in one-run games end in the extra-inning loss to Wayne State Thursday.  The had previously won all three games decided by one run this season.  UDM grabbed a 2-1 win over Indiana State on the opening day of play (Mar. 6) in Florida before 10-9 (South Dakota) and 3-2 (Wagner) wins later in Kissimmee.

HUDDLE-UP
Erin Huddleston was clutch in the second game of the Wayne State series.  With the Titans down a run in the top of the seventh inning, Huddleston smashed a 1-1 pitch over the right-centerfield wall to help eventually send the game to extra innings.  It was her team-leading third homer of the year, half of the team's total.  She also leads the squad in RBI (10) and is second in batting average (.292).

BOND-Y, ANNA BONDY
Anna Bondy had a good outing spoiled in the extra inning of Thursday's loss at Wayne State.  Bondy went into the final inning with 7.0 inning pitched, scattering six hits while allowing just one earned run.  In the eighth, the Warriors plated a pair of runs to take the win.  It was easily her longest outing of this season as she lowered her ERA by a run-and-three-quarters (5.88).
