Titans End Road Trip with 21-5 Loss

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The women's lacrosse team fell at High Point on Sunday by the final score of 21-5. Anna Eidem scored a team-high two goals against the Panthers.

Detroit (1-8, 0-4 NLC) had a great start to the game as they were able to open up a 2-0 advantage over High Point. Lindsey Saunders and Emily Boissonneault gave Detroit the edge with goals in the opening minutes. Tara Grady made the assist on both goals.

High Point (9-3, 3-1 NLC) came back to score the next ten goals of the game to grab a comfortable lead. Grace Gaeng scored three goals during that span and Sara Kuhlman added a pair.

Anna Eidem ended the Panther run with a goal at the 11:30 mark. Her second goal of the game came just a minute later making the game 11-4 in favor of High Point.

The Panthers held a 13-5 lead at the half. Corina Mahorn rounded out the scoring for the Titans with an unassisted goal with under seven to play. The second half was all High Point as the Panthers outscored Detroit 8-0 in the final thirty minutes of action.

Chelsea Thompson scored a game-high four goals against Detroit. Gaeng and Kuhlman impacted the game by each recording a hat trick, and five other Panthers added two goals in the winning effort.

Marybeth Flanagan took the loss as the Detroit goalkeeper. She made seven saves in the first half, and three in the second to end the day with 10 total. Lauren Hayes earned the win for High Point. She made three saves.

Detroit will return to Titan Field next weekend with games against Jacksonville and Presbyterian.
