Short Trip South On Deck for Titans Wednesday

Wednesday, April 11
Detroit (8-26) at Bowling Green (21-14) - 3:00 p.m.       LIVE STATS

ON TAP
Detroit makes the short trip down I-75 South to Bowling Green State University for a Wednesday non-league doubleheader.  The Titans are fresh off a 7-5 come-from-behind win in their last outing and are looking to build on that momentum.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
BGSU swept fellow Mid-American Conference foe BUffalo in its last outings.  The Falcons sport three hitters above .300 with another at .299 in the regular lineup. Paige Berger tops the group with her .305 average and eight steals while Andrea Arney has a team-best nine dingers and 33 RBI.  Paris Imholz (9-7) and Jamie Kertes (10-7) have similar win-loss records in the circle and both have sub-2.30 ERAs.

LAST TIME OUT
A four-run fifth inning powered Detroit past visiting Green Bay, 7-5, in a come-from-behind win Saturday morning at Buysse Ballpark.  A bases-clearing double from Shelby Long keyed the rally and gave Detroit the final game of the three-game series. Sophomore Sara Cupp finished the day 3 for 3 with a homer and four RBI.  Freshman Alyssa Schaub scored a pair of runs and Long drove in two with her clutch double in the fifth.

HORIZON LEAGUE STATS
A pair of Titans appear in the league leaders this week in several offensive categories.  Sophomore Sara Cupp is tied for third in homers (6) and is tied for fourth in RBI (24).  Leadoff hitter Alyssa Schaub is tied for seventh in the league with 21 runs scored.

GRACIOUS HOSTS
Bowling Green will be hosting just its third and fourth games of the season in Wednesday's doubleheader.  Valparaiso played rude house guests a week ago, sweeping 4-0 and 5-0 games on April 4.  The Crusaders gave up just five hits in the two games combined, spoiling the home openers.  Wednesday begins an eight-game homestand for the Falcons.

TITAN TURNAROUND
Detroit has already surpassed its win total from a season ago (7) with 19 games remaining on the 2012 regular season docket.  Four of Detroit's wins have been come-from-behind wins, including Saturday's 7-5 victory vs. Green Bay.  The Titans are aiming for a return to the Horizon League tournament this season as the top six league squads earn a berth to the double-elimination tournament.
