Meaghan Priebe Named New Dance Coach

DETROIT (11/6/2013) -- The University of Detroit Mercy Athletic Department has announced that Meaghan Priebe has been named the new dance coach for the Titans' DT2 squad.

"We are very excited to add Meaghan to the Detroit Titan family," said Jason Horn, Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs. "She is a very talented dancer and coach who will bring exciting and fresh choreography to Calihan Hall. We're looking forward to what she will bring to the table this year and years to come."

Priebe comes to Detroit with strong credentials as a dance coach for both children and adults. She currently serves as a coach for Northville High School's junior varsity dance team, helping choreograph routines and preparing them for competition.

She also works with the Performer's Edge Dance Company, where her students range from young children to adults. In that capacity, she helps students prepare for competition, conventions, and other various performances with competitive and non-competitive choreograph routines.  Her teachings include competition group technique, conditioning, core, jazz, tap, lyrical, leaps, turns, and stretching. Prior to that, she worked with the Sheryl's School of Dance on classes dealing with tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and ballet.

She was on the Dance USA national team that performed in Spain in 2008 and was part of Sheryl's School of Dance competitive team for nine years.  She also was part of the Detroit Lion's Thanksgiving halftime performances in 2009 and 2010.

Outside of dance, she works as a Public Relations PR Coordinator for Mastery Technologies and is a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), serving as President from June 2012-13.

Priebe is set to graduate in December with a bachelor's degree in public relations from Wayne State, where she was twice the recipient of Renee M. Abraham Harries Memorial Endowed Scholarship as well as the "Dance for your Dreams" college scholarship from the Detroit Pistons dance team, Automotion.
