LAST OUTING
The Titans scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh and had two runners on with two outs but sophomore Christa McGahuey's fly ball to right field wasn't deep enough as the University of Detroit Mercy softball team's rally came up short in a 9-8 loss to Wright State in the series finale on Sunday at Buysse Ballpark.

Wright State (10-25, 6-4 HL) led 9-5 entering the bottom half of the seventh inning before the Titans scored three runs on five hits, including back-to-back doubles from freshman Lauren Weldy – her first collegiate hit – and senior Alyssa Gietl to make it a one run game.

Detroit (4-30, 0-6 HL) scored one run in the first inning and four more in the second, including a two run double to right center from Katy Severson to give the Titans a 5-0 lead.

The Raiders would answer back with one run in the third inning, before scoring five more in the fourth, including a grand slam from Angie Clark, to give Wright State a 6-5 lead.

The score would stay the same until the Raiders added three more runs on four hits in the sixth inning to build a 9-5 lead.

ABOUT THE FALCONS
The Falcons will enter the two-game home stand with a 3-1 record at Meserve Field, outscoring its opponents by a 17-8 margin.
