"We are all truly saddened to hear about the loss of one of our proudest and most popular alums in Reggie Hall," said Director of Athletics
Robert C. Vowels, Jr. "He was a true Titan and he touched everyone that has come into Calihan Hall in the last 30 years."
Hall was known for his passion for the red, white and blue, traveling to see his alma mater play any time he could. He could be heard in Calihan Hall on the loudest gamedays and his smile truly brightened everyone's day.
He was a regular member of the Detroit Road Scholars and every Titan fan that has come into Calihan Hall or been on the road to see the Titans play have no doubt run into him.
Hall attended the University of Detroit from 1975-79 and graduated with a degree in communications. While at Detroit, he was a walk-on with the baseball team under head coach Bob Miller, earning three varsity letters on the diamond. He played in 55 career games as a designated hitter and first baseman and hit .235 with a homer and 20 RBI.
His first collegiate hit came in game one of a doubleheader at Dayton as a freshman in 1976 and he followed that up with a 3-for-5 day with a run scored and an RBI in game two. His only collegiate homer was as a sophomore, a two-run bomb in a 10-4 win over Oakland.
In 2013, he was honored by the Titans with the prestigious John Conti Letterman of Distinction Award presented annually to former Titan varsity athletes who go above and beyond at work and in the community.
Hall's love of sports carried over to his career as a member of the media for over 30 years, spending most of that time as a sports producer with WXYZ-TV. He has covered Titan championship teams, Stanley Cups, World Series, Super Bowls, NCAA Final Four titles, NBA championships, etc., and has also helped spark countless sports careers with the internship program at Channel 7.
A native Detroiter, he graduated from Chadsey High School.
His love and devotion will be missed, and the Titans would like to send our deepest condolences to his entire family.
