DETROIT (7/27/2016) -- Paris Bass and
Anton Wilson will both be continuing their career overseas as the pair of University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball players has signed professional contracts.
Bass signed with the Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions of the Österreichische Basketball Bundesliga in Austria, while Wilson inked with BBC Lausanne of the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNBA) in Switzerland.Â
Bass had a prolific two-year career with the red, white and blue, earning Horizon League Freshman of the Year in 2015 and First Team All-Horizon League in 2016. He was the Co-Titan MVP this past season as he led the team in scoring (18.4), rebounding (8.0), blocks (1.4) and steals (1.4), finishing fourth in the HL in blocks, fifth in scoring and rebounding and tied for sixth in steals. He posted double figures in scoring in 19 of his 24 contests, including thirteen 20-point outings and seven double-doubles, which was tied for third in the HL in 20-point games and tied for seventh in double-doubles.
As a freshman, he averaged 12.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game, ranking second on the team in scoring, first in rebounds, second in assists and first in blocked shots with 35.Â
He ended his career with 842 points, 375 rebounds, 111 assists, 71 steals and 68 blocks in just 56 career games.Â
Wilson will go down as one of the best pure shooters in Titan history, ending his career third in the school record books shooting 41.1 percent from behind the arc and fourth with 205 career 3-pointers. He tallied 1,005 points, 319 rebounds, 183 assists and 95 steals in 126 career games.
He saved his best for last as his senior season saw him finish second on the team in scoring with a career-high 14.3 points points per game, the eighth highest total in the Horizon League. He was also second on the team in assists (2.2) and steals (1.3), where he was eighth in the HL, and led the conference in free-throw percentage hitting 83-of-93 for 89.2percent, the third highest mark in school history and a number that was seventh in the country.
Wilson was second on the squad, seventh in the league and 25th in the nation in three-point field goal percentage hitting 86-of-201 for 42.8 percent, the fifth-best mark in school history, while his 86 treys were fourth.
