ALLENDALE, Mich. (1/28/17) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team saw several standout performances that cracked top-10 program marks as the Mike Lints Alumni Open came to a close on Saturday night on the campus of Grand Valley State.
 
HIGHLIGHT OF THE MEET
The Titans got three performances that cracked the top-10 of the all-time program mark for each event. Freshman Lynda Brundige continued her impressive form and set the rookie record in the triple jump at 38'6" (11.73m). The mark is also the third-best in the all-time record book. Sydnie Fetherolf and Devon Sutton also moved some names around in the record books, with Fetherolf posting the seventh-fastest mile in Titan history (5:07.44) and Sutton recording the tenth-fastest 3,000m (10:23.29).
 
TOP PERFORMANCES

• Brundige won gold in the triple jump (38'6") and added a top-ten finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.09m (16'8.5").
• Senior Ashley Bayles took bronze in the shot put with a toss of 12.98m (42'7").
• Sophomore Kye Dozier took seventh in the 400m with an indoor PR of 57.73.
• Senior Samantha Zakalowski placed eighth in the 800m with a time of 2:17.66.
• Fetherolf took fifth in the mile with a PR of 5:07.44.
• Sutton placed eighth in the 3,000m with a PR of 10:23.29.
• The 4x400m Relay team of Dent, Dozier, Zakalowski and Vizard finished eighth in 4:03.28.
