TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (4/22/17) – The University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team wrapped up from the Pacesetter Invitational from Indiana State University on a cool and windy Saturday afternoon.
The Titans finished sixth with 42 points across the two-day event that began on Friday afternoon.
COACH MURRAY SAYS
"We got some good work competing and dealing with some Midwest outdoor conditions in one of our final ones prior to the Horizon League Championships. We got several strong last attempt efforts in the throws and overall we got some good work in for our championship meet, which could always have potential for similar weather conditions."
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Titans received points in eight individual events and three relays.
- Four PRs were hit during the meet: Michael Nelson (400m), Adam Fraeyman (3000S), Nick Scalzi (discus) and Eric Leduc (discus).
- Carlton Sims finished third in the 400m with a time of 49.28.
- Brendan McClanahan finished fourth in the 800m with a mark of 1:56.09.
- Fraeyman finished fifth in the steeplechase with a PR of 9:56.03.
- The Titans finished 2nd and 4th in the 4x400m relay and added a fifth place finish in the 4x100m relay.
