KENOSHA, Wisc. (10/27/2018) – Sophomore
Claire Kendell earned Second Team All-Horizon League honors with a top-14 finish as the University of Detroit Mercy women's cross country team competed in the Horizon League Championship on Saturday.
In the first 6k race of the year, Kendell was 11th overall in 22:09. She missed last year's Horizon League Championship battling an injury, but kept up her strong season leading the team for the fifth time this year.
Kendell is the first Titan rookie runner to finish in the top 14 for All-League honors since
Sydnie Fetherolf was 10th in 2014.
Senior
Veronica Towianski tallied a time of 23:02 for 36th and junior
Kayla Hughes was behind her taking 38th in 23:19.
Rounding out the Titan scoring five was junior
Victoria Ostrander claiming 63rd in 24:09 and sophomore
Rebecca Measel's 24:18 for 71st.
As a team, Detroit Mercy posted 199 points for ninth at the Wayne Dannehl Championship Cross Country Course on the campus of UW-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The Titans will now get ready for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships, held at Indiana State on Nov. 9.
