TERRE HAUTE, IND. (11/9/18) -- University of Detroit Mercy senior harrier
Ben Kendell had a career day on Friday afternoon, earning second place at the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals with a time of 31:11.
With that finish, Kendell qualifies for the NCAA Division I Championships in Madison, Wisc. next weekend, Nov. 17th.
The race took place at LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana and the event was hosted by Indiana State University.
By claiming second, Kendell finished with the second best 10k time in school history, the highest place in a regional run by a Titan in school history and the best HL finish since 2008 when Andy Baker finished second for Butler.
Also breaking the top-75 was fellow HL-First team honoree
James McCann, who placed 74th with a time of 32:33.
Next across the line for the Titans was sophomore
Thomas Mueller, who finished with a mark of 34:22. Following closely behind him was junior
Adam Fraeyman, who crossed the line at the 34:39 mark.
The next pack representing the red, white and blue consisted of
Ryan Schwab,
Scott Smith and
Michael Greeley, who finished in 35:20, 35:57 and 36:35 respectively.
