The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse program has announced the signing of three student-athletes for the 2019-20 school year in head coach Megan Callahan's first signing class. All three signed their National Letters of Intent (NLI) during the fall signing period in November.
The three set to join the Titans are attackers Marina Butler
(Irondequoit, N.Y.) and Annie Gilbert
(Caledonia, Mich. / Grand Rapids Catholic Central) and goalkeeper Hannah Shrader
(Eldersburg, Md. / Liberty).

Marina Butler // Attacker
A three-sport athlete at Irondequoit High School, lettering in lacrosse (four years), basketball (three years) and tennis ... Earned First Team All-County honors in 2018 in lacrosse ... Has totaled 38 goals and 55 assists for 93 points during her high school career entering her senior season ... Has ranked second on the team in points each season, totaling 40 points as a junior (21 goals, 19 assists) ... Has played club lacrosse with Lady Roc for five seasons, winning a championship ... In basketball, helped squad to sectional finals as a sophomore ... Her father, Mike Butler, played football at Syracuse.
Coach Callahan on Butler:
"Marina is going to be our sneaky offensive player that will keep the other team on their toes. It's going to be fun having her bring her IQ of the game into our offense."
Annie Gilbert // Attacker
Grand Rapids Catholic Central
A four-year varsity letter-winner in lacrosse for the Cougars ... Earned Brine All-American, All-State Honorable Mention, First Team All-Conference honors as a junior in 2018 ... Twice selected for Brine National Lacrosse Classic Team Michigan (2017, 2018) ... Two-time All-Conference, earning Honorable Mention laurels as a sophomore ... Named a team captain ... Also Academic All-State ... Has scored 188 goals overall entering her senior season, adding 45 assists for 233 career points in 60 games ... Has started every game since her freshman season and scored at least one goal in 58 of 60 games, while scoring at least one in 46 consecutive contests ... Plays club lacrosse with Mitten Select.

"Annie is a crafty, smart, quick-hands player who will fit into our style of play perfectly. I'm excited to see her produce big numbers for our offense."
Hannah Shrader // Goalkeeper
Lettered in three seasons for the Lions in lacrosse, playing four overall ... Helped her squad to a 2017 1A-2A Maryland regional championship during her sophomore season ... Has played club lacrosse with Check-Hers Elite 2019 Pink in four seasons ... Lists her biggest thrill as playing in the 2017 state semifinal game against Century ... Her uncle was a professional wrestler.

"Hannah is a feisty, aggressive, smart player in between the pipes. She will be a great addition to our defensive unit!"
