Devan Schulert and
Eric Macrow were in the top 40 as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team concluded play at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate on Sunday.
It was cold and windy all weekend long as the Titans tallied a 926 (307-314-305) for 14th place at the Par 71, 6,915-yard Weibring Golf Club.
Schulert finished the event with a 225 (71-75-79) for a share of 21st place, the first time he has led the Titans in a tournament in his career.Â
Macrow recorded a 229 (78-77-74) and tied for 39th and sophomore
Scott Sparks claimed 68th with a 234 (78-79-77).
Detroit Mercy will have one more event before the Horizon League Championship as the red, white and blue play in Tennessee State's Big Blue Invitational next week, Apr. 9-10.Â

Here is a recap of the action at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate:
- The Titans finished the event with their best team round at 305.
- Schulert led the team with nine birdies in the event, including five on the opening 18, and tied for fourth overall in the field in that stat.Â
- Schulert has posted back-to-back tournaments with a 225 score or better after tallying a career-low 221 at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, and has seven-straight rounds in the 70's.Â
- Macrow started his third round with three straight birdies and also had a run of 10-straight pars in his final round.
- Sparks tied for seventh in the competition with a team-best 36 pars, while Macrow was just behind him tied for 11th with 35 pars.Â
- Sparks has now carded 12-straight rounds in the 70's.

"The conditions were brutal, but we trudged through and had some good moments. We had some really good rounds today, and that came undone with having to finish in a mini blizzard. Overall, I feel like we'll be tougher from this experience!"
