DETROIT (1/7/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team completed its early recruiting period with another local standout as
Sydney Bradford (Fenton, Mich./Hartland) signed a National Letter of Intent.
Bradford joins Plymouth's
Shae Zydeck who inked her NLI with the Titans back in November.
"She can hit the ball well and she is someone that can string together some birdies," said interim head coach
John Hitchings. "She is good with her irons and good with her putter and she will be a good addition to the team."
Bradford earned four varsity letters in high school on the links and set the school record for a round three times, tallying a 76 as a sophomore, 75 as a junior and an even-par 72 as a senior in a victory at the Hartland Invitational.
In 2018, she was selected All-State at Division 1 and that was after receiving Honorable Mention All-State as a junior.
She also helped her team to a state finals appearance and a runner-up effort at the regionals as a senior and a spot in the state tournament for the first time in 17 years as a sophomore.
As a junior amateur, she recorded three top-10 performances on the Golf Week Junior Tour in the last two seasons and won the Kensington Junior Golf Tour Livingston Tournament in 2018.
