KEWDIN, Mich. (8/31/2025) -- Graduate senior
Ariel Chang is just outside the top 10, and junior
Gabriella Tapp is in the top 30 after 36 holes of the A-Ga-Ming Invitational on Sunday.
The season opener is being held at the par 72, 6,000-yard A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort in Kewadin, Michigan.
Chang - who redshirted last season - is tied for 11th with a 146 (74-72), just three strokes outside the top five. She needed a few holes to get going as she bogeyed two of her first three, but she ended her opening round with 13 pars and an eagle for a 2-over 74. In round two, she recorded 14 pars and two birdies en route to an even-par 72.
Tapp is tied for 27th with a 152 (78-74) as she got off to a slow start with four bogeys in her first eight holes, but recovered with eight pars on the front nine. In the afternoon, she flipped the script, knocking in 13 pars and two birdies for her career-tying 2-over 74.
Two rookies playing as individuals had a nice start to their collegiate careers as
Ava Wisinski is 57th with a 159 (85-74) and
Sadie Kondel tallied a 160 (78-82) for 59th place. Wisinski showed some early jitters, posting seven pars and a birdie in round one, but she shaved 11 strokes off that score, recording 11 pars and three birdies for a 2-over 74 in round two.
Meanwhile, Kondel was steady on the day, carding eight pars and three birdies for an opening 78 and seven pars and a birdie in the second.
