DETROIT (1/24/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball squad returns to the road this weekend, beginning with a Friday morning contest at Northern Kentucky in Highland Heights, Ky. Detroit Mercy opens the first of two road contests this weekend, also playing at Wright State in Dayton on Sunday.
Both games may be seen live via ESPN-Plus for a monthly subscription fee. Friday's contest is set to begin at 11 a.m. ET, while Sunday's game is slated for a 2 p.m. ET start.

Senior guard
Brittney Jackson tied her career-high with 16 points and junior
Zoey Oatis added 12 points and six rebounds, but Detroit Mercy fell to visiting Milwaukee by a 62-44 margin on Sunday from Calihan Hall.
Jackson hit two 3-pointers in the game and had a stretch in the fourth quarter where she scored five-straight points to bring the Titans to within three, 42-39, with 6 minutes left. Milwaukee would use its lethal outside shooting late in the game, however, to pull away in the final minutes.
Freshman guard
Jess Bicknell added eight points for the Titans to go along with three steals. Detroit Mercy, as a team, had nine steals, which was the 11th time this season with nine or more steals in a game. The Titans shot 30.6 percent (15-for-49) in the contest and 11-of-18 from the free throw line.
Scouting Northern Kentucky
Northern Kentucky is 3-14 on the season, which includes a 2-5 mark in league play with victories coming over UIC and Milwaukee. The Norse are 2-4 in home contests this season and are hosting their Kid's Day Game when Detroit Mercy visits NKU on Friday.
Northern Kentucky has balanced scoring this season with no player averaging over 10 points per game. Taylor Clos leads the squad at 9.6 points per game, while Molly Glick (8.9 ppg), Kailey Coffey (8.2 ppg) and Ally Niece (7.8 ppg) are just behind. Six players average 5.9 points per game or better. Grayson Rose leads the team in rebounding at 7.4 caroms per game.
Clos is also the team leader in assists (37), while Clos and Glick have each connected on 27 treys this season.
All-Time Series
The Titans are 3-4 all-time against Northern Kentucky, which includes a 1-2 mark in true road games. Detroit Mercy dropped all three meetings last season with the two squads meeting in the first round of the 2018 Horizon League Championship.

Bernard Scott at the helm of the squad. The Titans started 3-1 in the first four career match-ups.

After the finish of a four-game road swing, Detroit Mercy has five of seven contests at home to finish the regular season, starting with a Feb. 9 game against Metro Series rival Oakland.
