DAYTON, Ohio (1/25/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team closes out the first-half of the Horizon League slate Sunday afternoon, visiting league foe Wright State for a 2 p.m. contest at the Nutter Center in Dayton. The game may be seen live via ESPN-Plus.
Detroit Mercy is coming off a 68-56 setback at Northern Kentucky on Friday. Senior guard
Brittney Jackson scored a career-best 20 points for the Titans.

Brittney Jackson hit three 3-pointers and scored a game and career-high 20 points and
Zoey Oatis added 12 points, six rebounds and four steals, but the Titans fell on the road at Wright State, 68-56, on Friday morning. Jackson scored 15 of her 20 points after the halftime break to help bring the Titans within single-digits several different times in the second half.
The Titans had 13 steals in the contest, the third most all season, also shooting 40-percent from the floor (20-for-50). Detroit Mercy also had five blocks -- three by freshman
Paige Bellman and two from Oatis. Freshman
Jess Bicknell added nine points, while Bellman added eight points for the red, white and blue. Detroit Mercy had just 12 turnovers in the contest, which was also the third-fewest in the 2018-19 season.
Scouting Wright State
Wright State is at the top of the Horizon League at 7-1 and has an overall record of 15-5 on the season. The Raiders lead all Horizon League teams in scoring offense (71.5 points per game) and rebounding (43.5 caroms per contest). WSU is coming off a victory over Oakland on Friday and only dropped a HL contest to Youngstown State earlier this season.
Michal Miller leads the team in scoring (13.5 ppg), while Mackenzie Taylor averages 12.5 points per game. The duo have combined for 79 3-pointers on the season. Symone Simmons leads the team and ranks second in the league in rebounding at 8.7 boards per game. Freshman Angel Baker is tops on the team with 64 assists, averaging 3.2 helpers per game. Emily Vogelpohl has a team-best 33 steals.
All-Time Series
The Titans lead in the all-time series with Wright State, 28-26, which includes an 11-14 mark in road games. Detroit Mercy has dropped the last two against WSU, but are 3-4 against Wright State under head coach
Bernard Scott.
Last season, Wright State earned 88-60 and 85-55 victories over the Titans. Detroit Mercy won in Dayton in 2016 in a 95-93 overtime thriller.
