DETROIT (1/30/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team opens the second half of the Horizon League schedule Thursday evening at Cleveland State. The 7 p.m. contest may be seen live via ESPN3.com and the WatchESPN Applications. Admission into the game is free.
It's the third road game in seven days for Detroit Mercy, which concludes its four-game road trip on Saturday afternoon at Youngstown State. The red, white and blue close out the regular season with five of seven at Calihan Hall.

Brittney Jackson leads the squad in scoring at 9.8 points per game. She scored a career-high 20 points in last weekend's loss at Northern Kentucky, hitting 8-of-14 shots from the floor. Jackson also leads the Titans in scoring in Horizon League games, averaging 10.1 points per game.

Jiera Shears tied her career-high with 16 points and junior forward
Ashley Miller added nine points and six rebounds, but Detroit Mercy was topped at visiting Wright State, 78-59, on Sunday. Detroit Mercy tied a season-high with 41 rebounds with freshman
Jess Bicknell also grabbing a career-high eight caroms. The Titans also knocked down 7-of-16 3-point attempts.
Detroit Mercy cut the Wright State advantage to six points, 44-38, early in the third quarter after going on an 11-4 run. Bicknell opened the third quarter with a 3-pointer and then freshman
Paige Bellman followed with two 3-pointers. Senior
Brittney Jackson then converted on a lay-up to cut the deficit to six. Wright State answered, however, and pulled away in the fourth quarter for the victory. Scouting Cleveland State
Cleveland State went 4-5 in Horizon League play during the first half of the league slate and enters Thursday's contest at 7-13 overall through 20 games. The Vikings are coming off a loss against Youngstown State last Saturday. CSU earned victories over the Titans and travel partner Oakland at the beginning of Horizon League play in late December.
Mariah Miller leads the team in scoring at 15.9 points per game, which also ranks second in the league. Mariah White averages 12.3 points per game to rank 11th in the HL. Freshman standout Savanna Crockett ranks first in the league in rebounding at 8.8 boards per game. She is also third in the league in blocks per game (1.5). As a team, the Vikings are at the top in the league in steals per game (9.5).

Detroit Mercy is 40-21 all-time in 61 meetings with Cleveland State. The Titans are 14-14 in 28 true road games against the Vikings. Under head coach
Bernard Scott, the red, white and blue is 4-4 against CSU.
Earlier this season, the Titans fell 67-49 to Cleveland State on Dec. 30 at Calihan Hall during the opening weekend of Horizon League play. Junior
