DETROIT (7/12/19) – From July 10-23, DetroitTitans.com will release the Top 10 Moments of 2018-19 as voted on by members of the Detroit Mercy athletic staff. Each day, a new moment will be posted on DetroitTitans.com as well as on each of the Titan social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).
The most prestigious sports magazine in the country showcased a Titan in its June 3-10 edition as
Antoine Davis was featured in a five-page article highlighting his outstanding freshman campaign.
The article detailed his training with his dad, head coach
Mike Davis, and John Lucas starting at the age of 12 and what he is doing this offseason to improve on his freshman season, where he was third in the country in scoring at 26.1 points per game.
Part of the article was also on coach Davis and his recognition on the three-point shot and how important it is to the game of basketball and how the younger Davis' training and skills are exactly what the professional game is looking for today, and the choice he made in switching his commitment from the University of Houston to come play with his dad at Detroit Mercy
.
It was not the first time on the year that Davis was featured by Sports Illustrated. During the season, they did an online article regarding his play and his 3-point shooting as he was chasing Stephen Curry's NCAA 3-point record. He would eventually break that with 132 triples on the season.
Sports Illustrated also had several tweets on Davis throughout the 2018-19 season, once again giving praise to one of the top scorers in the nation.
