DETROIT (7/10/19) – From July 10-23, DetroitTitans.com will release the Top 10 Moments of 2018-19 as voted on by members of the Detroit Mercy athletic staff. Each day, a new moment will be posted on DetroitTitans.com as well as on each of the Titan social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).
The 2018-19 Top 10 kicks off with a historic run from the women's soccer team. With five games remaining in the 2018 regular season and the Titans out of the playoff picture, the women's soccer team reeled off five consecutive shutout wins to earn a berth in the Horizon League Tournament.
In the quarterfinals of the 2018 Horizon League Championship, the Titans set a program record with their sixth-straight shutout victory – a 2-0 decision on the road at Wright State.
During the win streak, the Titans blanked Northwood (2-0), Green Bay (1-0, OT), Cleveland State (1-0), Youngstown State (1-0) and Wright State twice (1-0, 2-0).
The incredible run came to an end in the Horizon League semifinals as the fifth-seeded Titans fell to No. 2 Cleveland State, 2-1. The Titans finished the year at 9-8-3, including a 4-4-1 mark in league play.
