DETROIT (2/19/2020) – The University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's track and field teams will proceed down I-94 to Ann Arbor to compete in the Silverston Invitational at the University of Michigan on Friday Feb. 21.
Upon returning home from last weekend after participating in the GVSU Big Meet, the red, white and blue displayed an inviolable showing in Allendale.
On the men's side, freshman sensation
Dante Bassham won first place in the 60-meter dash with a time 6.98 seconds.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team won first place in sections two and three of the race.
Junior
Justin Koch placed seventh in flight two of the high jump, while sophomore
Daniel Lanfear placed eighth in flight one.
On the women's side, sophomore
Constantina Sinani placed fourth and Freshman
Micah Carey placed fifth in flights one and two of the triple jump. Freshman
Mone Knowles continues her solid season with a top-ten finish in the 200-meter dash, marking a solid performance from both teams' freshmen entrants.
Events begin at 4 p.m. and will feature live scoring and video.
