MACON, Ga. (3/10/2020) -- University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse redshirt senior Kaitlyn Wandelt (Sayville, N.Y.) was named the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon by the league office. It's the seventh time in her career that Wandelt has earned a Player of the Week honor and fourth in the Southern Conference.

Wandelt had a 10-point week for the Titans, recording six goals in an 11-8 road victory at Winthrop on Thursday before totaling four points and a third-straight hat trick on Sunday at Gardner-Webb. Wandelt scored five of her six goals after halftime at Winthrop as Detroit Mercy out-scored the Eagles 9-1 in the second half in the come-from-behind road victory in Charlotte, N.C.

The redshirt senior midfielder from Sayville, New York then added three goals and one assist for four points in Sunday's road setback at Gardner-Webb. She had 18 shots during the week, putting 14 of them on net.

On the season, Wandelt has a team-high 14 points and 12 goals for the red, white and blue. Wandelt, who has 192 goals total in a Titan uniform, is nearing 200 goals in her Titan career and recently moved into third place all-time in career points (243) in her six-goal effort at Winthrop on Thursday. She passed former Titan standout Anna Eidem (234 points) for third place on the career points list.

The weekly honor from the Southern Conference is the first for a Titan this season.

The Titans host Marquette on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET in the first home game from Titan Field in the 2020 season. The game is slated to be streamed live on ESPN-Plus.
