Women's Soccer's Sarah Hirschmann Named 2020 Valedictorian

DETROIT (5/11/2020) -- Former University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer goalie Sarah Hirschmann was named the Valedictorian for the Class of 2020. 
 
To be named Valedictorian, a student must demonstrate academic excellence by achieving a 3.7 or higher GPA, University involvement, service and leadership.
 
Hirschmann becomes the sixth student-athlete since 1981 to earn the Valedictorian honor following women's soccer's Sara Zawacki in 2016, Susan Kalkstein from track and field in 2012, softball's Katelyn McCutcheon in 2010, and track and field's Mead Goedert in 2006 and Todd Otten in 1998.
