DETROIT (10/2/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team will stay local for another event as the Titans compete in Eastern Michigan's Shirley Spork EMU Invitational.
The two-day, 54-hole event will begin with the first two rounds on Monday, Oct. 4, and conclude with the final 18 on Tuesday at the par 72, 6,175-yard Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti. Both days will have a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
The Titans will battle host EMU, Akron, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Dayton, Green Bay, Oakland, Ohio, Western Michigan and Youngstown State.
This will be the second time the Titans will play in the Eagles' fall tournament as they were ninth with a 934 (308-308-318) in the fall of 2019. In that event,
Alexa Hatz and
Shana Murphy both shared 19th with a 229 card.
Through two fall tournaments so far, freshman
Ariel Chang has posted a pair of top-three efforts and has a 74.00 average, while Hatz has one top-10 finish and is second on the squad with a 76.5 average.
