BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (4/11/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's golf team got off to a quick start in its final regular season event as the Titans are in second place after the first round of Bowling Green's Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on Saturday.
Detroit Mercy shot a season-best 308 at the par 72, 5,911-yard Stone Ridge Golf Club and trails only the host Falcons, who tallied a 297.
Sophomore
Emma McKinley led the squad and is 10th overall with a career-low 3-over 75, four strokes off the lead, while graduate senior
Ariel Chang and junior
Gabriella Tapp are tied for 12th with a 4-over 76.
McKinley started her round with six straight pars and ended the day with 13 pars and a birdie.
Chang had a run of nine-straight pars at one point and knocked in 14 total on the opening 18, and Tapp caught fire on the front nine, registering three birdies and four pars in her final eight holes.
The final round of the event is set to tee off at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow.
