DETROIT (12/8/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team will host eight games in 2022, including some major rivals in Michigan and Marquette as the Titans announced their 2022 schedule on Wednesday.
Detroit Mercy will open the season with a visit from Michigan on Feb. 11, which will be held at UWM Sports Complex in Pontiac at 9:00 p.m.Â
After a road game to start Mid-American Conference play at Robert Morris on Feb. 23, the red, white and blue will return home to welcome Marquette to Titan Field on Feb. 25 and MAC-rival Central Michigan on Mar. 2.
The Titans will alter home and road trips the rest of the way as they travel to Butler on Mar. 5 and Youngstown State on Mar. 12 with home games to follow in Akron on Mar. 16 and St. Bonaventure on Mar. 20.
Detroit Mercy will close out the month of March at Kent State on the 23 and come back to host Robert Morris on Apr. 2. The rest of the month will have road games at CMU (Apr. 9) and Akron (Apr. 23) and home games with Youngstown State (Apr. 16) and Kent State (Apr. 30).Â
The MAC Championship will be held at the site of the No. 1 seed from May 5-7 as the top four teams in the league will compete for the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Titans return 26 letterwinners, five of their top six scorers and both goalies from a year ago.Â
