ROCHESTER, Mich. (4/24/2021) – The University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team placed fourth in the Elaine Leigh Track and Field Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The race was held on the campus of nearby Oakland University.
Graduate senior
Kyri Jackson claimed a pair of second-place finishes and set a new school record in the 100-meter hurdles posting a time of 14.16, surpassing Brandee Hart's 14.25 in 2012. Jackson was second in both the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes for the Titans.
The day also saw multiple first-place finishes from the Titans as senior
Rebecca Measel and sophomore
Kayla Smith were the Titans standing on top of the podium after the 3000m steeplechase and discus, respectively.
Next up for the Titans will be the Harris Family Invite next Saturday at Notre Dame.
