DETROIT (5/19/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer program has announced the signing of two more incoming Titans with head coach
Nicholas Deren '99 announcing the addition of incoming freshmen
Baldeep Gill (Brampton, Ont. / Cardinal Leger S.S.) and
Daniel Larsson (Lommedalen, Norway / Dønski Videregående Skole).
Both Titans are international signees with Gill coming from nearby Ontario and Larsson the first Titan men's soccer signing in program history from Norway. The pair make it nine in the 2020-21 signing class for the program. The seven other incoming Titans were
announced in late April.

Height: 6'0"
Hometown: Brampton, Ontario
High School: Cardinal Leger Secondary School
Accolades: Played three sports in high school including soccer in each season, along with volleyball and cross country for the Lancers ... Helped the squad to a regional championship and was named Team Player of the Year in three different seasons ... Tallied 10 goals and 13 assists in 20 games during high school and in club career spanning 79 games, posted 19 goals and 42 assists ... Played club soccer with Milton Youth Soccer Club, helping team to Ontario Cup championship, regional championship, Nike Showcase championship and a USA Cup finalist appearance ... Played soccer in Spain with Elche CF for three months and was a Canadian Biosteel select team member, FTF Canada combine MVP and a FTF Canada combine All-Star ... Plans to major in Biology / Pre-Med.
Deren on Gill: "Baldeep is an extremely talented midfielder from Ontario. He is technically proficient, brave on the ball, and understands the game at a higher tactical level than most. Baldeep will feature in the middle of the midfield or on the wing for us and I expect his creativity to generate goals and assists throughout his time at Detroit Mercy."

Height: 6'1"
Hometown: Lommedalen, Norway
High School: Dønski Videregående Skole
Accolades: Plays club soccer with Nordstrand IF in the Interkrets A league and prior to that, played club soccer for five seasons at Baerum SK ... Played in the nationally-televised Norway Cup ... Plans to major in Business Administration.
Deren on Larsson: "Daniel is coming to us from Norway and will be an immediate impact player for us in the backline. He is a center-back that is extremely physical and strong in the 1-v-1 duel. On top of that, he is really calm on the ball and can pick passes out under pressure with precision. He is the ball-playing center back we have been looking for and I expect him to lead the Titan backline for the next four years."
