DETROIT (8/17/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball program has released the seven-game non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 season, it was announced on Tuesday by interim head coach
LaTanya Collins.
The Titans are set to play five of the seven non-league games away from Calihan Hall. Detroit Mercy has four-straight non-conference contests away from Calihan Hall in November, before closing out the non-league slate with two of three at home in December.
"We are excited to release our non-conference schedule," Collins said. "The games we have scheduled will give us an opportunity to get a good measure of where we are before getting deep into Horizon League play. We look forward to the challenges that may come early and welcome the positive growth that these challenges should yield."
The red, white and blue, embarking on its 45th season as a program, opens the 2021-22 campaign on the road at Loyola (Ill.) from Chicago on Tuesday, Nov. 9 before making the short trek to Ypsilanti, Michigan to battle in-state foe Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Nov. 13.
Detroit Mercy heads to Buffalo, New York next for a road clash with Canisius on Tuesday, Nov. 23 just before Thanksgiving before closing out the month with a game at Akron on Monday, Nov. 29.
The Titans open December's non-league slate with Western Michigan at home on Wednesday, Dec. 8 and then head to Valparaiso for a contest in Indiana on Saturday, Dec. 11. Detroit Mercy closes out the non-conference portion on Saturday, Dec. 18 from Calihan Hall against North Dakota.
