Bell Elevated To Throws Coach

DETROIT (9/2-/2021) -- The University of Detroit Mercy track and field program has announced that Curtis Bell has been elevated to an assistant coach and now in charge of the throwing unit. 

Bell worked with the programs last season as an assistant, helping the pole vaulters and multi competitors, and received his throws certification from the USTFCCA. 

He worked with McKendree University as a graduate assistant from 2019-2020 and was also a volunteer coach at Central Michigan from 2018-19, helping CMU win the 2019 indoor MAAC championship as well as a NCAA All-American in the long jump. 

He also coached for four seasons at Aquinas Vault Academy in Grand Rapids, Michigan, 

As a student-athlete at Aquinas College, he won three NAIA national titles in the pole vault.

Bell graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Aquinas College.
