DETROIT (4/1/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's track and field program will get back into competition with the outdoor season as the Titans make a short trip to Oakland for the Golden Grizzlies Invite.
The event will start at 10:00 a.m. at Oakland's Elaine Leigh Track & Field Complex.
The Titans last competed in the Horizon League Indoor Championships, where the men and women both finished in seventh place.
Sophomore
Lyla Mullins was gold in the shot put, beating her own school record with a toss of 14.80 meters, while freshman
Nadia Hill earned silver in the high jump with a mark 1.70m. For the men, freshman
Weston Glei claimed third in the heptathlon with a school-record 4,550 points. During the event, he won the high jump and placed second in the long jump and the 60-meter hurdles.
Last year at the meet,
Meghan Koss won the 100-meters in 12:06, while
Evie Wright claimed the 5,000m, and the 4x400 took gold. The men saw
James Wallace and
Andrew Drakos with silver medals in the 100m and 400-meter hurdles, respectively, as well as a runner-up finish in the 4x400.
