BOSTON (11/25/2022) -- Graduate senior Antoine Davis found himself on another watch list for a major award as he is one of the early season candidates for the Lou Henson National Player of the Year award. 

The award, presented annually to the top mid-major player in Division I college basketball, honors former Illinois and New Mexico State head coach who won 775 games in 41 seasons. 

He has been tabbed to the Lou Henson All-America Team three times (2019, 2021, 2022) in his career.

Davis is currently second in the NCAA in scoring at 24.7 points per game and is third with 4.00, 3-pointers per game. 

He has finished top-four nationally in scoring in all four years (26.1 for third in 2019, 24.3 for fourth in 2020 and 24.0 for third in 2021). He is fifth all-time in NCAA history with 3.85 triples per game, with his 453 career 3-pointers four shy of moving into the top three and 55 behind the NCAA record of 509.

Davis' 148 total points on the year is second so far in DI and he has 2,882 career points, tops in school history, second all-time in Horizon League history (33 away from first), 15th in NCAA history (118 away from becoming the 11th player in NCAA history to score 3,000 points) and 785 away from Pete Maravich's NCAA-record 3,667. 

Players on teams from the following conferences are eligible for the award: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast.
