INDIANAPOLIS (3/21/2022) -- Three University of Detroit Mercy student-athletes were honored for their academic and athletic success as the Horizon League released its indoor track and field All-Academic Teams today.
A total of 33 student-athletes earned the honor of being named to the All-Academic Teams, while eight more were tabbed for the Honorable Mention Teams. Faculty Athletic Representatives from member institutions voted for these awards.

Allison Sherman was selected to the women's team.
Mueller - who holds a 3.87 GPA in Cyber Security - is now a four-time All-Academic honoree with two selections in cross country and another in outdoor track and field. He earned a team-high 11 points at the Horizon League Indoor Championships as he placed fourth in the 3,000-meters with a career-best 8:29 time, fifth in school history, and was part of the third-place distance medley relay quartet.
Lanfear was selected to the team for the second-straight year as he has a 3.86 GPA in Computer Science. He scored for the Titans taking seventh in the high jump at the HL Championships with a leap of 2.05-meters. During the season, he also won the high jump at Michigan's Silverston Invite with a 2.05 mark along with the Jack Skoog (1.95m) and Mastodon Invite (1.99m).
A perfect 4.0 student-athlete in Electrical Engineering, Sherman's nod is the third time she has been an All-Academic Team member as she has twice received the accolade in cross country. She was 13th in the 5,000m and 23rd in the 3,000m at the HL Championships, and on the year, she won the 3,000m at the Akron Invite with a career-best time of 10:27.
The All-Academic and Honorable Mention Teams are comprised of student-athletes from eleven of the League's institutions. The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests.
