DETROIT (4/9/2026) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's track and field teams will be back in action this Saturday.
Most of the Titans will be at Central Michigan's Chippewa Challenge, while some will be in the Keystone State competing in Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic.
Last year, both teams combined to win seven events at CMU.
James Wallace captured the 100 and 200-meter races.
Andrew Drakos took the 400-meter hurdles,
Luke Adamczyk won the javelin, and the 4x400 team won gold. For the women,
Abbey Ressler tied the outdoor school record in the pole vault.
In the outdoor opener last week at Oakland, the men posted 13 medal performances, including five first-place efforts, while the women had six top-three finishes and a pair of wins.
Senior
Joshua Otten won the 1,500 meters. Freshman
Isaiah Fox earned gold in the 110-meter hurdles, while freshman
Joey DeCasas took home the long jump title on his way to Horizon League Track & Field Athlete of the Week. Sophomore
Kyle Falls won the triple jump, and the 4x400 team of juniors
Mike Ferguson and
Nicholas Johnson and freshmen
Kwaku Awuah and
Luke Hansen were the victors in their event.
Freshman
Nadia Hill won the high jump, and the women's quartet of senior
Jada Clark, junior
Gabriela Gashaj, and freshmen
Madison Montgomery and
Mia Seaton was victorious in the 4x400.
