Detroit's Mercy's (2-2-1) best chance for the equalizer came late in the second half in the 86th minute as Wentzloff ripped a shot to the far right side from just inside the box but BGSU (1-2-1) goalkeeper Kasey Hartmann made a diving save pushing the ball away.
The Titans got off two more shots down the stretch but each were blocked.
Detroit Mercy concludes their three-game road swing at Eastern Kentucky on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m.
