DETROIT (12/15/2023) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's cross country and track and field team has added a late addition to the roster in junior college transfer
Claire Hunt (Linden, Mich./Lake Fenton (Mott Community College).
Hunt, a sophomore, will be immediately eligible for the track and field season and will also join the distance runners for cross country next year.
Hunt just finished her second season in cross country with Mott and posted the fifth-best 5k time in school history with a 19:54 run. She was also a Coaches Association All-American as a sophomore and a two-time individual national qualifier.
In high school, she lettered in cross country and track and field, recording the school record in the 5k in cross country, and was a three-time state qualifier. She was tabbed MVP of the cross country team as a sophomore, junior and senior and Most Improved in track and field as a sophomore. Hunt ended her prep career being named the Flint Metro League Athlete of the Year, the State Bank Athlete of the Year, and Lake Fenton's Women Athlete of the Year as a senior.
The Titans started the indoor season at Notre Dame two weeks ago and are now in Holiday training for when they return to action in January.
