Jordan Hazel hit her first home run of the season while
Ryann Glenn hit 2-for-5 overall with a run scored as Detroit Mercy dropped a #HLSB home-opening doubleheader 13-1 and 5-1 to visiting Youngstown State on Sunday afternoon. Senior
Allison Smith also went 1-for-2 with an RBI and walk in the nightcap.

Game 1 Recap:
• The game was scoreless over the first four innings
• YSU (13-13, 4-0 HL) got on the board first with five runs off four hits highlighted by two home runs to take a 5-0 lead in the fifth inning.
• The Penguins blew the game open with eight runs on six hits to take a commanding 13-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning.
• Hazel connected on her first home run of the season in the bottom of the sixth to account for Detroit Mercy's (2-17, 1-2 HL) only run.
Game 2 Recap:
• YSU took a 2-0 lead in the second inning off an RBI double and sacrifice fly
• Smith delivered an RBI single through the right size to score
Ryann Glenn in the bottom half to pull the Titans within a run at 2-1.
• The Penguins added a run in the fourth inning off an RBI single and another run off an RBI double in the sixth inning.
• Megan Turner hit her third home run on the day in the seventh inning giving YSU a 5-1 lead.
• The Titans were not able to get a hit over the final four innings to cut into the deficit.
Detroit Mercy and YSU will play the series finale on Monday, Mar. 27 at 1 p.m.
