Renee Trotman went 1-for-2 with a double and walk followed by junior
Maddy Heilner who also hit 1-for-2 with a walk as Detroit Mercy fell 5-0 to Chattanooga. Sophomore
Jaiden Lara and freshman
Alison Donaugh also went 1-for-3 at the plate. The Titans then concluded play at the Red and Black Tournament with an 8-0 setback to host Gardner-Webb on Sunday at Brinkley Softball Stadium. Heilner finished with two hits on the day.
Chattanooga Recap:
• Chattanooga took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first off an RBI single.
• Trotman led off the second inning with a double but was left stranded
• Trotman reached second base for a second time in the top of the fourth inning as she drew a walk and then moved to second off Donaugh's single.
• The Mocs added four runs (two unearned) off four hits in the bottom of the fourth to move ahead 5-0.
• The Titans left a runner in scoring position for the third time as Lara reached second base in the sixth inning for a total of seven left on base for the game.

Chloe Spitzer tossed 5.0 innings with a strikeout in the circle, Donaugh also saw action in the circle pitching 1.0 innings with a pair of strikeouts.
Gardner-Webb Recap:
• Freshman
Trinity Fessler and Heilner recorded the only two hits for the Titans which came in the third inning.
• Senior
Kara Wolfbauer drew a walk to lead off the third inning and moved to third base off singles from Heilner and Fessler. However, she was left stranded.
• The Runnin' Bulldogs scored in four straight innings to take an 8-0 lead at the end of the fourth inning.
Detroit Mercy will remain in North Carolina and spend Spring Break playing four games beginning at Elon on Tue., March 7 at 4:30 p.m.
