Kayla Smith earned her sixth top-three effort and graduate senior
Allison Sherman moved up to third in the Titan record books as the University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team started its weekend events on Friday.
Sherman was in Grand Valley competing at the GVSU Big Meet and clocked a career time of 17:10.08 in the 5,000-meters, good for third in the race as well as third all-time in school history.Â
Meanwhile, Smith was in Canada at the Windsor Challenge and picked up a silver in the weight with a toss of 16.81-meters. It was her third silver in the weight on the year to go with a win and two third-place efforts.Â
Day two of the Windsor challenge will get underway tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.Â
