Sherman Takes Bronze In The 10,000m At Horizon League Championships

Graduate senior Allison Sherman was third under the lights in the 10,000 meters
ROCHESTER, Mich. (5/3/2024) -- Graduate senior Allison Sherman earned points for the Titans with a third-place finish and senior Kayla Smith added a fourth-place effort as the University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team started the Horizon League Championships on Friday. 

Sherman clocked a 36:01.38 for the bronze in the 10,000 meters and six points in the team standings, while Smith threw the discus 41.37m for five points.

Sophomore Claire Hunt registered a time of 4:49.85 for 16th in the 1,500m, while freshman Grace Steffes was 18th in the javelin with a mark of 26.69-meters

Day two of the championships will start at 9:00 a.m. for the decathlon, noon for the throws and 3:00 p.m. for the running events.
