ROCHESTER, Mich. (9/15/2024) -- Senior Marko Banic led the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team with a top-30 finish as the Titans finished up play at Oakland's Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate on Sunday.

Detroit Mercy took 12th with a 913 (308-299-306) at the par 72, 7,237-yard Katke-Cousins Golf Course. 

Banic ended the event posting a 77 as he tied for 30th overall with a 225 (74-74-77). He had 11 pars and three birdies on the final 18 as he led the squad with nine birdies and was second with 32 pars on the weekend.

Sophomore David Swab tied for 38th with a 227 (75-74-78), while sophomores Gowtham Nalluri and Mason Sokolowski shared 54th with a 231.

Swab had 11 pars and a birdie for a 78 in his final round, but he ended up topping the team with 36 pars and was third with six birdies.

Mason Sokolowski (78-79-74) carded the best round on the day with a 2-over 74 as he registered nine pars and four birdies, with all four coming on the front nine. In the event, he knocked in eight birdies, the second most on the squad.

UDM will have a couple of weeks off before playing in Cleveland State's Tom Tontimonia Invitational, scheduled for Sept. 30-Oct. 1
