INDIANAPOLIS (10/7/2025) -- After putting their names high in the Titan record books, University of Detroit Mercy cross country graduate senior Nina Pizzo and freshman Colin Murray were honored by the Horizon League on Tuesday.

Pizzo was named the Runner of the Week for the first time in her career, while Murray was tabbed the Freshman of the Week for the third time this season. 

Pizzo led the Titans for the third time this year by taking 11th in a career-best 22:00 at the 24th Annual Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic. She broke her previous 6k mark by 25 seconds, as her time now stands sixth in school history.

Murray led the UDM squad for the first time this season, earning 44th in a season-best 24:40 in the 8k competition. It was the best rookie and the third-best overall time ever for a Titan at the event, and also stands fourth all-time in school history.

Detroit Mercy will have one more event left before the postseason as UDM runs in the Canisius Alumni Classic on Oct. 18.
