CLEVELAND (2/25/2025) -- After a stellar defensive effort and great offensive performance leading to a victory, the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team swept this week's Mid-American Conference weekly awards.
For the second time this season, senior
Meredith Leavell was named the Goalkeeper of the Week. Senior
Maddy Camm was tabbed the Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career, while senior
Katie Bilello earned the defensive accolade for the first time as the Titans defeated Canisius, 12-7.
Leavell ended the game with 13 saves and five ground balls and has now tallied double-digit saves in 23 of her 46 career games, upping her career saves to 437. She is currently leading the nation with 16.33 saves per game.
Bilello had a monster game on defense as she posted a career-high four caused turnovers and seven ground balls, helping UDM limit an opponent to seven goals for the first time since 2023.
Camm led the offense with a career-best five points on three goals and two assists. It was her fifth career hat trick as she also added a team-high six draw controls, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers. She is now 10th in school history with 96 draws and eighth with 60 caused turnovers, tied for 15th among active players in the nation.
The Titans are working hard at practice as they prepare for a spring break road trip starting with a game at Kennesaw State on Sunday.
