Titans Look To Prove Coaches Wrong Again

Senior Katie Bilello and the Titans will look to make it back-to-back years in the playoffs.
DETROIT (2/5/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team will open the season in two days, and the Titans will once again look to make a mockery of the MAC Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Titans were slated fifth with 16 points, trailing Robert Morris (34), Central Michigan (31), Eastern Michigan (26) and Kent State (18) and ahead of Akron (11) and Youngstown State (11).

Last year, UDM was picked last, but finished the year at 3-3 in league play and made a run to the MAC Championship game, knocking off regular season champion CMU in the semifinals.

Detroit Mercy returns eight starters and 14 letterwinners from last season, including All-MAC Second Team honorees in seniors Leah Bodnar and Maddy Camm and junior Alyssa Jarvis.

The red, white and blue will open the 2025 campaign against San Diego State on Friday in a home game played indoors at UWM Sports Complex in Pontiac, Michigan.
