WINDSOR, Ont. (2/8/2025) -- Junior Joshua Otten led the way with a runner-up effort in the 1,000-meters as the University of Detroit Mercy men's track and field team finished up the Windsor Team Challenge on Saturday.

Otten tallied a career-best 2:27.90 for the silver, falling short of the school record 2:27.60 that has stood since 1990.

Sophomore Joshua Neary and graduate senior Simon Jones were sixth and seventh in the heptathlon with career scores of 4,198 and 4,171, respectively, standing third and fourth in the school record book.

Junior Jaden McKenzie was sixth in the 300m in a career-tying 35.10, while senior Cody Bartlett was 10th in the high jump at 1.96-meters.

UDM will have a week of training before sending a select squad to Grand Valley State next Friday.
