FORT WAYNE, Indiana (3/1/2025) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's track and field team saw its distance medley relay score some points with one of the top times in school history as the Titans opened up the Horizon League Indoor Championships on Saturday.
The league meet is being held at Purdue Fort Wayne.
UDM earned five points in the DMR as the team of senior 
Nina Pizzo, juniors 
McKenzie McNitt and 
Claire Hunt and freshman 
Sofia Figueroa claimed fourth in 12:17.73, the fourth fastest time in school history. 
Freshman 
Meghan Koss moved into the finals of the 200-meters with a time of 25.24 in the preliminaries, good for eighth, and just missed a bid in the 60m, taking ninth in 7.68.
McNitt also narrowly missed the finals in the 400m as she placed ninth in 59.12.  
Senior 
Zoe Madden tallied a 12th-place effort in the long jump at 5.21-meters, while sophomore 
Helana Napiorkowski won her heat and was 13th overall in the 5,000, in 18:31.99. 
Day two of the event will get underway tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
