DETROIT (4/12/2025) -- Seven different Titans found the back of the net, but the fourth quarter did not do their way as the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-11 decision to defending MAC champion Robert Morris on Saturday.
Senior
Maddy Camm led the offense with three goals, while pulling down four draw controls and coming away with a caused turnover and two ground balls. Junior
Libby Cuckler had two goals and two assists, and senior
Leah Bodnar had two markers and a helper, along with four draws and a takeaway.Â
Senior
Meredith Leavell made 13 saves and picked up four ground balls and junior
Alyssa Jarvis tallied a season-high nine draw controls.
The game was tied four times in the first half as Bodnar and Cuckler scored goals in the final five minutes to make it 6-6 at the break.
Robert Morris (5-9, 3-1 MAC) took the lead early in the third, but Detroit Mercy (5-7, 2-2 MAC) knotted it up again as freshman
Sophia Schwab beat the goalie at the 9:53 mark.Â
The Colonials scored two straight, but Camm got one back to make it a 9-8 game, and with 20 seconds left in the period, Cuckler found freshman
Jaeda Jensen, and she fired one in to pull the red, white, and blue within one again at 10-9.
RMU started the fourth with three goals in a row, but back came the Titans as Bodnar and freshman
Gabrianna Vasquez each had a marker to make it a 13-11 game with 9:31 remaining.
From there, the Colonials closed out the contest with six straight scores.
Senior
Katie Bilello had two caused turnovers and a ground ball., while junior
Angelina Hook had two GB's.
The Titans were outshot, 41-34, but saw Robert Morris go 4-of-6 on the free position.
The red, white and blue will be back in action next Saturday, Apr. 19, as it travels to Youngstown State.Â
