Titans Conclude Horizon League Championships

Sophomore David Swab led the Titans in the final round at the league Championships.

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. (4/21/2025) -- Sophomore David Swab posted the best round for the Titans in the final round as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team wrapped up the Horizon League Championships.

UDM finished 10th with a 930 (310-305-315) at the par 72, 6,766-yard El Campeon Course at the Mission Inn Resort.

Sophomore Gowtham Nalluri led the Titans as he tied for 26th with a 230 (75-76-79). His final round saw him tally 10 pars and two birdies, and he topped the squad with 33 pars and five birdies in the event.

Swab and Mason Sokolowski shared 39th with a 236.

Swab (79-83-74) carded the best round for the red, white and blue with a 2-over 74, knocking in 11 pars and three birdies. He finished the year leading the Titans with a 73.71 average. He also had the team's best effort by tying for first at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational with a 135 (69, 66), with his final round 66 tied for the third-best round in Titan history and the 135 tied for the best 36-hole score in the record book.

Sokolowski (79-78-79) had 11 pars in the final round and ended the season just behind Swab with a 74.29 mark, registering a pair of top-20 performances.

Senior Marko Banic totaled a 238 (77-78-83) to share 43rd, and junior Austin Brancaccio was 47th overall with a 239 (80-73-86). Banic ended his Titan career with a 75.08 average and tied for third with Nalluri on the season at 74.67.

The Titans will get ready for the summer amateur season and return as a team when the fall season starts in September.
