Sokolowski, Swab Earn Top 30 At The Jewell

Sophomore David Swab tied for 29th at NKU.

BATAVIA, Ohio. (4/8/2025) -- Sophomores Mason Sokolowski and David Swab recorded top 30 finishes as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team ended the NKU Jewell Invitational on Tuesday.

As a team, the Titans placed eighth with a 591 (296-295) at the par 71, 6,845-yard Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio.

After tying his career low for the second time this season with a 2-under 69 in round one, Sokolowski tallied a 3-over 74, knocking in 11 pars, to share 11th with a 36-hole career best of 143. For the event, he led the team with 25 pars, was second with five birdies, and ranked tied for third on the par 5's (-3, 4.50) and seventh on the par 4's (+1, 4.05).

Swab shared 29th with a 146 (74-72) as he registered a 1-over 72 in the second round, recording 14 pars and a pair of birdies.

Senior Marko Banic tied for 68th with a 153 (77-76), while junior Austin Brancaccio tied for 72nd with a 154 (81-73). Banic had 10 pars and two birdies and Brancaccio posted 16 pars in the final round

Detroit Mercy will now have one more test before the Horizon League Championships as the red, white and blue come back to Ohio for the Wright State Invitational on Apr. 13-14.
